this international women's day... inspire girls. transform lives.
This International Women's Day, Inspire Girls. Transform Lives.
In Sierra Leone, girls face immense obstacles like poverty, household responsibilities, and early marriage. This keeps them from accessing the education they deserve.
At One Girl, we believe support from local role models is critical for girls to succeed. They make sure that care is always there so no girl has to break down difficult barriers alone.
Meet Auntie Isha, a One Girl Field Officer. She knows the challenges these girls face—because she’s been there. Now, she’s inspiring the next generation to dream bigger, aim higher, and stay in school.
Watch her story below and see how, together, we can inspire girls and transform lives this International Women’s Day.
Isha’s role goes beyond monitoring school progress. She builds trust, provides mentorship, and becomes a lifeline of encouragement. When a girl has a role model like Isha, she has someone who shows up, and who believes in her potential—no matter what.
Girls like Abigail are proof of the impact. Thanks to Isha’s mentorship and One Girl’s support, Abigail is staying in school, growing in confidence, and believing in herself.
“She supports me a lot. If I'm not doing okay, she will do something about it. She cares about me, about all of us.” – Abigail, One Girl Scholar

By supporting One Girl, you are inspiring girls to dream bigger and aim higher. They thrive and create change in their own communities. This is the transformational power of education.
Here’s what your donation can provide:
-
- $30 can provide 6 scholars with sanitary pads for a month
- $60 can provide 2 scholars with the opportunity to attend a monthly meeting, gaining access to inspiring guest speakers, receiving breakfast, lunch and learning essential life skills that empower them to thrive.
- $150 can go towards helping ensure scholars are supported by our amazing field officers, who act as role models and trusted mentors. These dedicated field officers work with girls, their families, schools, and communities to overcome barriers, providing vital care and support every step of the way.
- $330 can provide 1 scholar with a back-to-school kit which includes a school bag, books, pen, uniforms, shoes, hats, calculator, geometry set and much more.
- $2,250 provides a full scholarship for a One Girl Scholar. This comprehensive support includes school fees, a solar lamp, sanitary pads, lunch money, a back-to-school kit, and more. It also includes ongoing mentorship and guidance from our dedicated field officers, access to monthly meetings with inspiring guest speakers, and essential life skills training—ensuring she has everything she needs to thrive and become an unstoppable world-changer.
With your help we can inspire more girls and transform more lives this International Women’s Day.
