As the years clock by and I begin to round off my final year of secondary education at the blazing age of 18, I figured that this year I'd do something different and give up my birthday present and repackage it into an education for a girl in Africa! I feel that education is a privilege that often goes by unnoticed, especially since going to school everyday has essentially become so normal and integrated into our lifestyles, when in reality someone else in the world can only dream of having a life like yours and mine. Upon reflection on all of that, I have decided to give up my birthday this year to kickstart the cycle of learning for someone who deserves it just as much as the rest of us!
