"*Fiew* - Well after a hectic week of designing and redesigning the website.. we're finally up and running! And with our own blog too! How exciting! I can't believe it's only been five months since the conception of Project Eight - opportunities are thrown at us left right and centre, and I think if there were 20 more hours in the day and 400 more people on our team, we'd actually have a chance at capitalising on all of them. Even though we’re still in the very early stages of our NGOs life, it’s been a very interesting journey to get to this point. We discovered early on that there isn’t a “How to setup a Not-for-Profit in Australia” manual. We also discovered new words like governance, auditors, transparency, accountability, administration fees (ew!).. the list goes on. There are countless ways to setup a charitable organisation in Australia, and we’ve chosen a particular structure based on our desired 5 - 10 year outcome. Over the past few months we’ve learnt A LOT, and I think it’s only fair that we share that information with you. It may make it easier for other people to start their own NFP in the future – and it’s a real opportunity for us to share our story with you. We’ve made lots of mistakes, and we’ve celebrated our successes. Starting a charity is something that anyone could do if you’ve got the passion and drive to make it happen. Stay tuned.. - Chantelle"
